The Politics of Health Care Reform: Implications for Physicians

March 30, 2011

As part of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) ongoing mission to improve the health of patients and communities, AHA introduces the Physician Leadership Forum; a new and different way for physicians and hospitals to advance excellence in patient care. Through the AHA’s Physician Leadership Forum, physicians and hospitals will be able to collaborate around issues of quality and safety, have access to leadership development opportunities and educational seminars. AHA’s Physician Leadership Forum also offers physicians the unique opportunity to impact AHA policy and advocacy efforts while advancing physician leadership within the health care delivery system.

In 2011, the AHA’s Physician Leadership Forum will present a series of complimentary webinars highlighting issues of importance to physicians. The webinars will cover a broad range of topics including quality and patient safety, team leadership, system redesign, and the implications of health care reform.

Our first webinar focuses on the politics of health care reform and the implications of the current environment in Washington on physicians and the practice of health care. This webinar explores the regulatory changes that will impact patient care and the growing need for hospitals and physicians to work in close alignment. You’ll hear an update on where the regulations stand, what you need to prepare for, and the benefits and challenges that lay ahead.
