Physician Compensation Plans

From the AHA’s Physician Leadership Forum and the Medical Group Management Association, this webinar provides information about the process to create and implement an effective compensation plan. Presenters Frank H. Ford, MBA, MHS, FACMPE and Jeffrey B. Milburn, MBA, CMPE describe in detail a four step process of starting the work, designing the plan, gaining buy-in and approval for the plan as well as plan implementation. Trends reviewed include balancing fee-for-service with value-based payments, quality and service incentives balanced with production models, base salary with realistic incentives and ensuring equity within the group. The specific objectives of the webinar are to:

  • Describe the process of developing and evaluating a physician compensation plan
  • Identify the various value-based incentive options and the selection and implementation processes
  • List the steps necessary for approving and implementing a new compensation plan
