President signs law delaying Medicare physician pay cut for two months
On December 23, President Obama signed into law the Temporary Payroll Tax Cut Continuation Act of 2011 that delays for two months a 27 percent scheduled payment cut for physicians who treat Medicare payments. The bill also extends for two months a number of policies affecting physicians, including the physician work geographic adjustment floor, physician mental health add-on payments and the moratorium on independent billing of the technical component of physician pathology services.

New ACA demonstration to expand scope of in-home services for Medicare beneficiaries
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently announced that a new demonstration, created by the Affordable Care Act (ACA), will allow up to 10,000 Medicare patients with chronic conditions to receive most of the care they need at home.
